Herbal Farms and Research Limited, established in February 2013, commenced its operations in March of the same year. The company's inception came about through the acquisition of assets from the former Plant Medicine Company Limited (PMCL) when it underwent liquidation. PMCL, which had been operational since 2005, specialized in the manufacturing of concentrates for its clients.
Situated in Nungua, Herbal Farms and Research Limited operates from a central location while maintaining farms in both the Eastern and Western regions. These farms serve as cultivation grounds for various plant materials used in the production of concentrates.
The primary objective of Herbal Farms and Research Limited is to satisfy the demand of its clients while consistently surpassing their expectations. This is achieved through the utilization of cutting-edge extraction equipment and technologies, which are augmented by traditional extraction methods. By employing this hybrid approach, the company ensures the delivery of concentrates that exhibit consistently excellent quality, allowing them to remain competitive within the market.
In response to the increasing demand from its clients over the years, Herbal Farms and Research Limited has undertaken an expansion of its operations. Currently, the company boasts a workforce of forty-two employees spanning various departments such as production, administration, research, laboratory, and finance. Additionally, the company also collaborates with contractors within the production sector to further enhance its capabilities.

As part of our sustainability drive, we have nurtured a 20-acre farm at Kwesitenten in Ghana’s lush Eastern Region since 2005, serving as a living testament to our commitment to responsible stewardship of the land.
In 2015, we expanded this vision with the establishment of a 150-acre mahogany plantation at Anyinabrim in the Wassa Amenfi District of the Western Region, planting seeds of hope for generations yet to come. Our plantations host a thriving diversity of tree species and creepers, working in harmony to restore ecosystems, protect biodiversity, and contribute to carbon capture for a cleaner environment.
We believe every tree planted today becomes a guardian of tomorrow, shading communities, nourishing the soil, and purifying the air we share. Our work is not finished until the land flourishes, communities grow stronger, and future generations inherit a world that is greener, healthier, and full of promise.
